Officers at NORAD attending phone calls for tracking santa

Sounds Strange? Yeah, it all began in December 24 1955. The officers of the defense command (which was called CONAD at the time) received a call from a kid who asked for whereabouts of Santa Claus! It didn’t end there, a series of calls came after, mostly from kids, asking for the same – Where is Santa Claus? It all happened because of a typo in the phone number of an advertisement of a toy shop that was published in the previous day’s newspaper. The content of the ad was as follows:

The advertisement made by Sears Toyland that came in 1955 telling Kids to call santa claus.

Hey Kiddies! Call me direct on my Merry Xmas telephone. Just Dial Me. Call me on my private phone and I will talk to you personally any time day or night, or come in and visit me at Sears Toyland.
